Meet the Composer: ECPL Welcomes Errollyn Wallen

Errollyn Wallen, CBE is a Belize-born British composer and one of the world’s top 20 most performed living classical composers. Her acclaimed work spans over 20 operas and a vast range of orchestral, chamber, and vocal music performed worldwide. She has composed for the 2012 Paralympics, royal jubilees, COP26, and BBC Proms. Her opera Dido’s Ghost premiered in 2021 and debuted in the U.S. in 2023. Wallen’s collaborations include award-winning work with artist Sonia Boyce and recent commissions for leading orchestras. She was named Master of the King's Music in August 2024 and is also the author of Becoming a Composer, published in 2023. Her music has even traveled to space aboard NASA’s STS-115 mission.

In August 2024 Errollyn Wallen was appointed Master of the King’s Music.
